The War is Old.
The Roads are Dangerous.
And Rouen Still Stands.
September 11-13, 2026
Join the March
Road to Rouen places you in the year 1380, deep in the contested woodlands of Normandy, where the long war between England and France is no longer fought in grand charges alone, but in marches, ambushes, and hard-won ground. Companies move beneath the trees with steel on their shoulders and bows close at hand. Banners are faded, armor is scarred, and every path through the forest carries uncertainty. This is not a spectacle set apart from the land, but war lived at close quarters, where vigilance and resolve matter more than display. This is an immersive deeds-of-arms event shaped by the martial realities of the late fourteenth century. Combat, archery, and instruction are woven into a continuous day meant to be endured rather than observed. Participants are called to move, stand, and act as those on campaign: sharing labor and hardship, testing skill under fatigue, and finding fellowship among those who have chosen to take the road. Here, the war is not remembered or reenacted — it is underway, and Rouen lies ahead.

Event Overview
Road to Rouen is structured as a full-day immersive martial experience, shaped as a continuous deeds-of-arms campaign rather than a fixed tournament. The day moves between preparation, instruction, and action, as it would for those long on the road. Classes, training, and archery are held both before the principal deeds of arms and alongside them, reflecting the many labors that give strength to an army beyond the clash itself. Instruction may be given on the practice grounds or within the war camps, where companies gather to ready themselves, learn from seasoned hands, and take counsel before returning to the field. The fortunes of each side are shaped by more than the stroke of a blade. Success in the deeds of arms is aided by the skill of archers and by the care taken in teaching and preparation. Those who instruct well, train their fellows, and tend to the readiness of their company strengthen their cause when forces meet. Participants are encouraged to think of themselves as on campaign, where every hand has its work: to bear arms, to draw the bow, to teach, to learn, and to support the company as the road presses onward toward Rouen.
